Have you been a victim of one of those blackhead removal masks? The ones that not only peel the blackheads off your face but also peel away your soul? If so, I’m here to tell you, there is an alternative!
Introducing the Mary Kay Deep Cleansing Charcoal Mask!
I know what you’re thinking but hear me out- I do not, let me repeat, DO NOT sell Mary Kay nor do I affiliate with Mary Kay. I am not making ANY money or receiving any benefits from making this post.
What Mary Kay claims their deep cleansing charcoal mask does:
1. Hydrates your skin
2. Removes excess oils
3. Pull out impurities
4. Makes your skin glow
5. Minimizes appearances of large pores
When you first squirt the charcoal mask into your hand before applying to your face, it is going to be a little runny. Just start applying it to your face (don’t worry if it gets on your eyebrows). After about one minute, it will start to harden. It will make your face feel a little tight but it isn’t painful. If you scroll down a little, there is a photo where I smiled and you can see where the mask cracked a little bit from me moving my face.
Leave the mask on for 10-30 minutes. This is the fun part. While your face mask is hardening, you can see where your face has “impurities” because the “impurities” (pimple, black heads, etc) will start to turn white.
Like I said, this isn’t a mask you peel off. To get the mask off, you literally just wash your face with water. Once the water hits the mask, it starts to soften and comes off. You can also use a warm wash rag.
When you’re done washing the mask off, you are good to go. BUT in my experience, my face feels a little dry so I add some moisturizer then call it done. It just depends on how your face feels once you wash the mask off.
The mask can be used 2-3 times a week. I use mine 3 times a week because I’m obsessed.
Another thing I love about this mask is if it gets in your hair, such as your eyebrows or the peach hairs around your face, it comes right off with water like it was never there. Therefore, you can use the mask in the mornings or while getting ready for a night out and it won’t ruin your plans by making your hair look all crazy.
I am not going to claim that the experience I have with this deep cleansing mask is going to be the same for everyone but for me, I saw immediate results after washing off the mask. The immediate result I had was less redness in my face, if I have pimples, the pimples are less noticeable and my face has the “glow” that Mary Kay claimed would happen.
After using the mask 3 times a week for 2 weeks, I noticed that my blackheads and pores are not noticeable unless I’m so close to the mirror, I’m licking my reflection AND I have less breakouts (even when Aunt Flo visits).
The only “con” I have is that it is a Mary Kay product so you can’t run to the store and grab it off the shelf when you run out. You can search the Mary Kay website for reps in your area or you want someone that isn’t pushy and annoying, you are more than welcome to order through my personal “plug” here.
I recommend this product 9/10 (if we could get it in stores, it would have gotten a full 10).
